DTU wishes to purchase a parking system for DTU’s campus in Lyngby. By a parking system, DTU means a technical system used to register and manage the use of DTU’s parking spaces. The system aims to provide a continuous overview of how many parking spaces are occupied and how many are available. Registration will be done using cameras or inductive loops placed at the entrances and exits of the parking spaces. Each time a car enters the parking space, it is counted as an occupied space, and each time a car exits, a corresponding space is released. In this way, the system can continuously calculate how many parking spaces are available. The information should be displayed on digital parking signs at the entrance or along the access roads, where drivers can see how many spaces are available before driving onto the area.
