Germany – Structural steelworks – Halde Hoheward, Horizontobservatorium, Herten - Sanierung - Stahlbauarbeiten

The RVR intends to construct a replacement structure of the same dimensions after the prior demolition of the existing horizontal observatory on the Hoheward spoil tip in Herten. As part of these works, the necessary steelwork is to be carried out, including the fabrication of a steel structure from hot-formed tubular material (steel mass approx. 427.1 t) including all connections and corrosion protection measures. The scope of services also includes the necessary workshop planning. The works are scheduled to commence in mid-2027 and to be completed by mid-2028 at the latest. The exact dates are to be coordinated with the contracting authority. The services are to be provided by companies with proven experience in steel construction, particularly for structures subject to dynamic loading.
