The cultural service of the municipality of Condom suffered a fire on Friday 12 June. The west wing of the cloister, a listed historic monument, was affected. The administrative office area was completely devastated, including the roof, as well as the area containing ancient books (archives and historical books). Approximately 385 m² of floor area is affected, including the ground floor of vaults that suffered water damage, a first floor that was burned, and the attic as well. The project management mission will be entrusted to a qualified architect in accordance with Articles R621-28 to R621-31 of the Heritage Code. The qualification of a construction economist must be obligatorily represented. The project manager is then free to form a multidisciplinary team according to the skills they deem necessary for the completion of the mission.
