The NDR plans to replace the ABBA system, which has been in use for approximately 30 years as the central IT system for the remuneration and processing of employment applications from freelance staff. The background to this is, in particular, the foreseeable end of Oracle support for the existing system and the need to future-proof the underlying specialist and technical solution. The current system, which is used by approximately 1,200 people, has weaknesses in terms of performance, user-friendliness, technological future-proofing, and support for cost-center-spanning remuneration processes and cross-system reporting.
