Germany – Architectural, engineering and planning services – Planungsleistung für den Auenanschluss am Plittersdorfer Altrhein

Within the framework of a cooperation project between the WSV, the Naturschutzbund Deutschland e.V. (NABU), represented by the Institute for River and Floodplain Ecology Branch Office Karlsruhe (NABU IFA KA), and the State of Baden-Württemberg, represented by the Regierungspräsidium Karlsruhe (RPK), several individual measures are planned along the Rhine (WSV's area of responsibility) and in the floodplain (NABU IFA KA's area of responsibility) in the project area "Plittersdorfer Altrhein". The Wasserstraßen- und Schifffahrtsamt Oberrhein (WSA ORh) plans to implement the three individual measures within its area of responsibility along the riverbank as part of advanced compensation measures for transport expansion projects in the natural area "Upper Rhine Lowland and Rhine-Main Lowland". The three WSA individual measures include an area with riverbank reshaping, two structures for connecting floodplain waters ("Eiskanal" and "Großer Bärensee"), and related groyne modifications. The awarding of the planning service includes the two structures for the floodplain connections, including adjustments to the control structures and demolition of the existing structure, but not the riverbank reshaping. The planning for the replacement new construction of the intake structure at "Eiskanal" at Rh-km 339,300 and the creation of a new downstream connection of the "Großer Bärensee" to the Rhine at Rh-km 343,200 will serve as the basis for the subsequent invitation to tender for the construction work.
