The project to green the barges involves "remotorising", that is, replacing the engines of the existing barges, in order to notably reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The possibility of replacing the existing barges with new ones is still under consideration at this stage of the deliberations. The green solution chosen is the 100% electric battery solution (whether it be a remotorisation or the complete replacement of the barge).
