The transfer bridge over Wilhelm-Nieswandt-Allee is in urgent need of renovation. The condition rating from the last main inspection is 3.7. Numerous corrosion damages are already visible at the steel structure (superstructure). In addition, several rivets are rusted through or completely missing. The damages identified are to be repaired as part of the renovation. Local concrete repair measures are necessary in the substructure area. Furthermore, there is a partial need for repair at the joints in the masonry area. Based on the results of the damage analysis to be carried out, the static calculation of the entire structure (according to HOAI) as well as the creation and review of the necessary proof of structural stability, a suitable renovation concept is to be developed. In addition, a new design of the traffic area (pavement) including the railing is to be undertaken. The aim is to achieve a sustainable improvement in the durability and load-bearing capacity of the existing footbridge and cycle path.
