The Lecture Hall Centre on the East Campus will be the first component of the "Quartiere am Volkspark" and the showcase of the university campus in the Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld. It is intended to become the central meeting place, primarily dedicated to teaching, but also promoting exchange between students, teaching staff and the public. Under one roof, it will unite flexibly usable teaching spaces for the departments of Chemistry, Physics and Biology, as well as Digital Natural Sciences. In addition to the excellent, internationally competitive research conditions in the Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld (SCHB), the Lecture Hall Centre will be realised in the Quartiere am Volkspark on the East Campus, opposite the planned Learning Centre, to create modern teaching and learning conditions for the approximately 5,000 students of the University of Hamburg from the departments of Physics, Chemistry, Data Science and parts of Biology, which should be fully competitive in national and international competition. Located on Luruper Chaussee, the Lecture Hall Centre will become a central attraction for students and teaching staff who wish to work in a building with attractive teaching and learning infrastructure in the future. The Lecture Hall Centre is intended to be a central meeting place on the campus, primarily serving teaching and catering. At this location, interdisciplinary encounters and communication between learners, teachers and the public should be promoted and made possible. The University of Hamburg has developed a comprehensive space and function programme for this project. The central components of the Lecture Hall Centre are the flexibly usable teaching spaces of the various departments and the canteen area. The distribution of teaching rooms provided for in the Lecture Hall Centre takes into account 9 lecture halls and 19 seminar rooms with flexible and partially reversible, future-proof room concepts. In addition, catering for scientists, students, employees and guests will be provided. The canteen, foyer and learning worlds should invite you to linger, stimulate communication and be a central point of contact in campus life. Furthermore, the Lecture Hall Centre is also intended to serve as a venue and exhibition venue. Overall, the Lecture Hall Centre is designed as a multifunctional, open and sustainable venue, both for the university and for the residents of the district. It is intended to realise the Lecture Hall Centre as early as the first construction phase of the "Quartiere am Volkspark" so that it can fulfil its role as a catalyst for urban life in the new district. The contract will be awarded in stages, with the individual phases of performance being divided into stages as follows: Stage 1: Performance phases 1-2 Structural design according to § 51 HOAI Stage 2: Performance phases 3-4 Structural design according to § 51 HOAI Stage 3: Performance phases 5-6 Structural design according to § 51 HOAI Stage 1 will be commissioned with the award. Further services will be commissioned in stages and optionally. There is no entitlement to the commissioning of further stages. Note: Further staged commissioning of the performance phases of stages 2 and 3 of the technical equipment according to § 51 HOAI is subject to the condition of secured project financing. After performance phase 3, the Authority for Science, Research and Equality will submit the project financing to the Hamburg Citizens' Assembly for decision.
