Description

The DAAD is increasingly involved in supporting or creating digital and digitally assisted offers as part of its activities to promote scientific exchange. --- Based on the project "Dhoch3 / DaF-Studienmodule", a Moodle platform has emerged, which is now also used by other units within the organisation (https://moodle.daad.de/). Currently, the DAAD operates four areas on the Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle: Dhoch3 (S14), Fachlektoren Betreuung (S14), iDA (S23) and VORsprung (S01). --- These offers differ considerably in terms of content, target groups, language (German/English) and technical specifics, but all use the same infrastructure of the already established Moodle platform. The technical support and further development of this platform, user management in the individual categories (including monitoring and evaluation), as well as the training and advice of the DAAD and the various user groups are central components of the framework agreement to be awarded. --- The DAAD uses a cloud server infrastructure certified according to European data protection directives for hosting the Moodle platform. Linux (Ubuntu LTS), Apache2, MySQL and PHP are installed on the servers and they are virtualised using VMWare. The web hosting itself is not part of this tender. Currently, Moodle version 4.5.12 is in operation; an upgrade to version 5 is planned for the first half of 2027. --- Further details can be found in the performance description in Annex 02 of the tender documents.
