The focus for the Studierendenwerk Ulm is on a long-term and sustainable solution for the new construction of the student residence. The accommodation of students should be designed for a heterogeneous population. The allocation of living spaces to students from different backgrounds, semesters, fields of study and life rhythms shapes the social fabric of the house. Even though the residents have individual apartments, the housing concept is deliberately intended to go beyond mere individual living. A maximum of five shared apartments with a shared kitchen and two sanitary areas, as well as individual apartments with their own kitchen and bathroom, plus the necessary car and bicycle parking spaces, are to be created. In each case, one barrier-free and one apartment suitable for single-parent students with a child is to be provided. To promote the community life of the residents, learning, communication or comparable community areas are also needed, which are supplemented by laundry and drying rooms. In total, approximately 100 living units will be created, depending on the concept. Services of the object planning according to § 34 HOAI in conjunction with Annex 10, performance phases 1–9, according to the specifications of the tender documents, are tendered.
