Section 130a, paragraph 8, of the German Social Code, Book V (SGB V), enables health insurers and pharmaceutical companies to conclude framework discount contracts for medicines to be dispensed at the expense of the statutory health insurers. With regard to the relevant legal provisions for the award of public contracts, the DAK-Gesundheit regularly conducts substance-specific, formal tendering procedures in accordance with the regulations of Part 4 of the German Act Against Restraints of Competition (GWB). For the pharmaceuticals to be specified by the bidder in Annex 2 to the contract, for the aforementioned substance Trientin (exclusively in the form of administration HKP), ATC A16AX12, the DAK-Gesundheit intends to conclude pharmaceutical discount contracts with as many interested pharmaceutical companies as possible until the entry into force of new pharmaceutical discount contracts. A discount contract under the approval model for the aforementioned substance will come into force for the first time on 01.05.2026 and will end on 30.04.2028. It will automatically end, regardless of this, with the entry into force of the exclusive contract.
