The district of Passau, together with the municipality of Neustift im Mühlkreis, intends to redevelop the recreational facilities at Rannasee, which was created over 40 years ago as a recreational and leisure area and serves as a tourist attraction in the Bavarian-Austrian border region. By restructuring the recreational and leisure areas with an attractive design of the shoreline, identity-creating spaces for the recreational facilities of the largest bathing lake in the Bavarian Forest are to be created. Offers for sustainable tourism are to be created with an improvement in the existing infrastructure and the quality of stay around the lake, including in particular a new gastronomy building for the facility on the lake shore. The measure is funded by the INTERREG VI - A Bavaria-Austria 2021-2027 programme of the European Union.
