The City of Hallstadt intends to establish a Paul-Maar-Museum in the listed properties at Fischergasse 4 and 6 in the historic old town. The basis for this is a feasibility study that confirms the urban planning and architectural feasibility of the specified spatial program. The museum concept envisages the careful renovation and conversion of the existing buildings, as well as the addition of a barrier-free new building with a staircase and elevator. All levels will be accessed via this new building, and the two buildings will be functionally connected to each other. The plan includes areas for permanent and special exhibitions, an education room, an entrance area with a ticket office and shop, as well as additional ancillary rooms. The outdoor facilities will be designed as a literature garden with reference to the works of Paul Maar. The facades of the existing buildings will be restored in accordance with conservation principles, and the new building will blend in with a structured wooden facade in the historic environment. An external museum depot is planned in a listed building on the market square.
