With the new Central Hospital Ostfriesische Meere, the existing hospital sites in Aurich, Emden and Norden are being consolidated into a single location. A modern hospital with 814 beds is being created on a approximately 36-hectare clinic campus, which will make a significant contribution to the long-term provision of inpatient healthcare in Ostfriesland. The campus includes the central somatic building with the bed towers, a centre for mental health, a supply building, and further medical, technical and infrastructural facilities. The focus of the planning is on efficient processes, short distances and a demand-oriented, future-proof supply. The project thus creates a modern and reliable basis for healthcare in the region.
