Germany – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – Klärwerk Bayreuth - Sanierung NKB 1+2

The City of Bayreuth intends to renovate the secondary settling tanks 1 and 2 at the Bayreuth Wastewater Treatment Plant. Currently, three secondary settling tanks are in operation. The secondary settling tank (NKB) 3, built in 1998, was already equipped with an adaptive central structure in 2024. The NKB 1 and 2, built in 1975, have been in operation since then. These NKB are now to be renovated and also equipped with an adaptive central structure. A concept study from October 2025 is available for the measure. Variant 1b: Renovation of secondary settling tanks 1 and 2 (renewal of scrapers) is to be implemented. The cost estimate from October 2025 amounts to total investment costs (including construction ancillary costs) of 6.84 million EUR gross or construction costs of approx. 4.8 million EUR net / 5.70 million EUR gross. With the present procedure, the planning services of the scope of services for engineering structures in conjunction with the scope of services for technical equipment (process and plant engineering, electrical engineering) according to HOAI are to be awarded. The NKB are to be renovated one after the other, the total construction time is estimated at approx. 3 years. The earliest start of the construction measure is expected to be in summer/autumn 2027. Furthermore, (optional) special services are to be awarded. The services are to be started immediately after the procedure. The services will be called off and awarded in stages.
