The city of Neunkirchen plans the new construction of a building to accommodate the after-school care at the Grundschule Steinwald. The Grundschule is a building complex that was erected in the 1960s. The two- and three-story building sections are connected to each other by an open break corridor. In the past, major investments have been made in windows, sun protection, and roof covering. Furthermore, a two-story extension with a total of six additional classrooms or school function rooms was constructed and put into operation in 2020 on the northern existing building. The construction of a new building is necessary to meet the growing demand for full-day places and to ensure long-term, high-quality care at the same time.
