The Baugenossenschaft Krumbach (Schwaben) e.G. intends, in cooperation with the Krumbacher Stadtimmobilien AdöR, to create affordable housing on an area of approximately 1 ha. The approximately 67-year-old settlement "Am Johannisbrunnen" is no longer usable as housing due to poor building condition. The existing five residential buildings will be demolished and replaced with new constructions. The aim is to create future-proof, high-quality housing that meets the requirements of housing promotion according to EOF. A mixed structure is envisaged. To this end, an architectural competition was conducted in advance. In March 2025, the winners were determined in the prize jury meeting and, after negotiations, the office Auernhammer Wohlrab Architektur was commissioned with the planning.
