With the renovation and refurbishment of the student residence at Plauener Weg 8 on the Erfurt campus, 230 residential units are to be fundamentally renovated. In addition, a building extension is planned to create additional residential units for students. According to ThürBO 2014 § 50, the apartments will be designed to be barrier-free. The building is used exclusively for residential purposes with a high proportion of single apartments with their own sanitary cell and kitchenette, as well as 2-room apartments with their own bathroom and shared kitchen. The basement contains the bicycle storage, the laundry room and the plant rooms. The building to be renovated is a DDR prefabricated building of the WBS 70 type with 6 (+1) above-ground floors and a basement (cellar). The residential complex consists of a total of two building sections (tracts) and a new connecting component to be created for horizontal access.
