The construction of the Rhine water transport pipeline by RWE at the Hambach open-cast mine is progressing. The visible intake structures are to be staged by Neuland Hambach GmbH and the process of water intake is to be made accessible to the public. A bureau has already been commissioned for the planning of the open spaces, and a planner is sought here for the structures that will allow a view of the water and provide space for initial infrastructure facilities. The planner will be responsible for the design, structural engineering and technical equipment. To ensure that the design of the structures harmonises qualitatively with the surrounding open space and due to the challenging foundation situation, the planning team should also include a landscape architect and a geotechnical expertise.
