The state capital of Magdeburg intends to design the administrative site of the Building Department - An der Steinkuhle 6 in a forward-looking manner. The existing building is to be extended by an annex and partially renovated in the interior. The associated open spaces are to be enhanced optically and functionally for both public traffic and employees. Due to the existing renovation needs and the inadequate space conditions in the existing building, parts of it are to be renovated and supplemented by a new extension. Specifically, this concerns areas on the northern gable side and parts of the current courtyard, as well as the area that will become available through the demolition of the canteen building. The demolition measure is also to be part of the construction project. Existing structures Generally, the existing building is to be prepared in such a way that the traces of use and wear that have accumulated over the years are repaired or removed. Specifically, this concerns necessary painting work on walls and ceilings including necessary repair work, as well as the replacement of the previous floor covering made of needle felt with linoleum or comparable materials. In addition, the existing doors are to be refurbished or replaced if necessary, while current normative limit values are to be observed and a visually appealing appearance is to be created. A large part of the offices currently still has a small antechamber, which was previously used as a wet cell. These antechambers are to be removed to provide a sufficiently large area for double offices. In addition, break and relaxation areas are to be created in the existing building. These are to be sensibly integrated into the existing architecture. The spatial arrangement of the individual specialist departments must be taken into account when arranging them. New extension As already mentioned above, the current canteen building is to be demolished and a new extension is to be built in that area. The demolition work will be part of the construction project. The new extension will accommodate, among other things, additional office space, meeting rooms, a special room for employees, as well as the associated technical and ancillary rooms. In addition, a front office is to be created to handle the majority of public traffic via the new extension in the future. The entire new extension is to be made barrier-free. Coordination with the relevant approval authorities must take place in the early performance phases. An extensive greening is to be provided for the roof to offer retention potential for rainwater, especially in the event of heavy rainfall. In addition, a photovoltaic system is to be taken into account. The dimensioning of this system is to be based on the building's own needs.
