The municipality of Wasbek intends to expand a fire station (approx. 1,000 m² gross floor area) and reorder the areas of the community centre (approx. 300-400 m² gross floor area) with the rooms for municipal use, the fairy tale stage, the volunteer fire department and an apartment. A new building would also be possible. As part of the competition task (as a realisation part), it should be examined to what extent the existing building fabric (existing fire station and rooms of the community centre) can be integrated and renovated in whole or in part, or even removed. The adjacent building of the former dairy, whose land areas are to be included in the planning, is to be demolished. Since the competition area is the town centre, the private land areas located north of the main road should be included in the consideration in the form of an ideas part, in order to obtain suggestions for a coherent long-term urban development.
