Description

The Terminal 2 Gesellschaft mbH & Co. oHG plans to construct an additional transfer security checkpoint on an open roof area of Terminal 2 North on level E06 at Munich Airport's Terminal 2. The measure is driven by the projected increase in passenger numbers, particularly in transfer traffic, and additional capacity requirements due to the introduction of the European Entry-Exit System (EES). The new transfer security checkpoint will be equipped with presumably seven control lanes and will handle the central processing of transfer passengers in Terminal 2. Passenger access will be via existing traffic areas and interfaces within the terminal system. The measure includes the planning of a new building volume, including the necessary structural, technical, and functional infrastructure for the later operation of the security control system. The services to be awarded include, in particular, general planning, including the coordination of all necessary specialist planning services. These include, in particular: - Building design, - Structural engineering, - Technical equipment, - Fire protection planning, - Building physics, - Planning services for IT/data networks and communication technology, - Involvement in permits and official procedures, - Tendering and awarding services for construction, - Site supervision and project completion services. The services must be provided taking into account the airport-specific requirements and the special conditions of the security area. The planning task includes, in particular, the development and implementation of an approvable and technically feasible overall concept for: - the construction of the building structure on the existing building, - the supply of the new security control system, including power supply, lighting, air conditioning, ventilation, information, and data technology, - necessary adaptations, extensions, or connections to existing technical control centers and infrastructure systems, - the integration of security control technology (particularly CT scanners and security screening lanes), - the creation of necessary operational, office, rest, post-control, and functional areas for the user organizations, - the consideration of operational, safety-related, and passenger-related requirements. The planning and supervision services must be provided under particularly complex conditions. The construction site is located within the air security area of Munich Airport. Planning and execution will take place during the ongoing operation of a high-frequency airport terminal. Due to the location on the roof of the terminal, limited space availability, and special security requirements, the site logistics will involve increased coordination effort. In addition, concepts for construction phases, site logistics, delivery, work in the security area, and the minimization of operational disruptions must be developed and implemented. It is to be expected that parts of the construction work will have to be carried out during night and shift operations. The measure is subject to high time and coordination pressure. Numerous planning and execution steps must be parallelized to ensure completion within the specified project timeline. The contractor is expected to have the corresponding personnel capacities and demonstrable experience in the planning and realization of technically demanding renovation and new construction projects in existing structures and under ongoing operations.
