Description

Comprehensive advice and assistance in connection with the urban development project from Albani Square to the Historical Staircase, etc. The project is a central part of the urban development project From Street to City, and includes the processing and redevelopment of the public urban spaces around Albani Square, Skt. Knuds Square and the adjacent areas. The project aims to create cohesive, attractive and robust urban spaces with high quality of stay and movement, which supports the historical and architectural character of the city centre. After the closure of the access to the parking basement and with only goods traffic in the area, it creates better conditions for a more active urban life in the area. This project is the final part of the transformation and it includes improvements to Albani Square, the redevelopment of Skt. Knuds Square, adjustments to Flakhaven and Klingenberg as well as the establishment of the Historical Staircase. The project aims to create a connection between time, space and nature. It will strengthen the connections between the Cathedral, the town hall, Odense Å and Nonnebakken and at the same time enhance the qualities that make Odense special. It is an investment in both the city's identity and the daily lives of its citizens. Overall, the project shall: highlight the historical connection between Albani Square and Skt. Knuds Square and thus also the connection to Eventyrhaven. This in the form of a pedestrian-friendly and green redevelopment of Skt. Knuds Square, from where a history-communicating staircase connection leads to Eventyrhaven. Eventyrhaven is thus drawn further up into the city and strengthens the area's green character together with the Cathedral's location in the landscape. strengthen the connection from Eventyrhaven and Odense Å to Albani Square with a particular focus on a redevelopment of the corner and the access to the square. Here, an extended communication of the history of and marking of the original Skt. Albani Church and the murder of King Knud, which has a prominent significance in the history of Odense and Denmark, and therefore also has great interest from the city and its visitors. remove the “traffic” expression by levelling differences in height, removing kerbstones and relocating paving after a pacification of Flakhaven, Skt. Knuds Square and Albani Square, as traffic is already now being diverted away from the areas around the Cathedral. The project places a strong focus on the reuse of the fine granite materials that are in the areas today.
