Germany – Multimedia equipment – Ersatzbeschaffung Projektions- und Raumsteuerungssystem (PRS) für einen Vortragsraum in der Bundesanstalt für Wasserbau am Standort Karlsruhe

The Federal Waterways Engineering and Research Institute (BAW) intends to upgrade the projection and room control system in the "Visualisation and Information Centre" (PRS) in Hall IV of the BAW in Karlsruhe to the latest technical standard after almost 10 years of operation and to renew the existing media technology components. In the area of media control, intuitive usability of the system for defined standard requirements is to be created and, in addition, special usage requirements are to be mapped. The PRS currently available at the BAW in Hall IV consists of various components from the fields of audio and video as well as information technology. A special feature of the PRS is the use of a rear projection screen approximately 6.5 m x 2.5 m in size. This is to be replaced by a similarly sized LED wall. The PRS is used by all departments of the BAW for events with 10 to 199 participants. These are mainly the following types of events: simple lecture events; multi-day colloquia or conferences; staff meetings, hybrid events. In addition to the standard situation "lecture", the following special uses also come into play: large-scale presentation of images or image sequences from the application of numerical and physical model investigations at the BAW; implementation of in-house streaming of image and sound via one or more channels. The system must be operable by both BAW's own staff and by external lecturers. In the events mentioned, Hall IV also serves as a representative room for the BAW.
