Description

Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld is one of the central urban development projects in Hamburg. On an area of approximately 125 hectares, a future-oriented science and innovation hub will be created by around 2040, closely linking urban life and science. A central development area is the Quartiere am Volkspark. The mixed-use district will form lively neighbourhoods with around 4,500 new apartments, modern educational and social facilities, areas for commerce, sport and leisure, as well as green open spaces. Within the Quartiere am Volkspark is the Campusviertel, which acts as an interface between the scientific environment and the residential area. In addition to the lecture hall centre, a site of the Fraunhofer Institute, and research-related facilities such as the Data-Center and student accommodation, the MIN Life Hub will be created as the largest individual project. Further information can be found on the SCHB website and in various brochures (https://www.sciencecity.hamburg). Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld is a forward-looking urban development project that is being created on the site of the former horse-racing track and in direct proximity to the research campus Bahrenfeld. The aim is to sustainably strengthen the science hub in Hamburg and to create a lively urban space that closely links research, economy, housing and leisure. Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld GmbH, as a municipal development company, is responsible for the planning implementation of the Quartiere am Volkspark and for coordinating between the various stakeholders from science, politics, administration and the private sector to bring the individual projects together to form an integrated and future-proof district. In the Quartiere am Volkspark, an integrated science district is being created, in which the new construction of the MIN Life Hub (MLH) represents a central component. Its location at the transition to the listed Altonaer Volkspark presents particular planning requirements, as both integration into the high-quality landscape and functional integration into the urban environment must be ensured. Further details can be found in the appendix TNW 6 to the tender documents. The required planning services for the project will be procured in stages. The procurement will be carried out in 2 stages, with the individual phases of the project divided as follows:

Stage 1: Planning phases 1-2 Building Design according to § 34 HOAI

Stage 2: Planning phases 3-4 Building Design according to § 34 HOAI

Note: The procurement of planning phases 5-8 of Building Design according to § 34 HOAI is subject to the condition of secured project financing. After planning phase 3, the Authority for Science, Research and Equality will submit the project financing to the Hamburg Citizens' Assembly for decision. With the award of the contract, stage 1 will be procured. There is no entitlement to further stage procurements.
