Description
Renewal of the emergency lighting system in Terminal 2, Munich Airport
Project scope: The measure includes the complete renewal of the emergency lighting system in Terminal 2 of Munich Airport. The work will be carried out in three construction phases while the terminal is in operation. The existing emergency lighting system must remain fully operational until the respective VOB partial acceptance. Central battery systems: As part of the modernisation, six existing central battery systems will be dismantled and replaced by new emergency lighting central units, each with three battery strings. Substations: Around 151 substations will be renewed or replaced. Additionally, the necessary adaptation of the power supply lines will be carried out at the new plant locations. Emergency and safety sign lighting: The measure includes the replacement or supplementation of a total of approximately 11,000 emergency lights and safety sign lights. At the same time, approximately 7,800 existing lights and safety signs will be professionally dismantled and disposed of. Cabling work: The existing lighting cabling will largely remain in place. For system extensions and adaptations, around 200,000 m of new lines will be laid. In addition, the recabling of low-voltage loops in existing distributions and between main distributors and emergency lighting systems will be carried out. Monitoring and safety technology: To adapt to the new emergency lighting system, approximately 610 system-bound and approximately 1,430 system-neutral low-voltage monitors will be retrofitted. Dismantling and disposal: The measure includes the professional dismantling and disposal of the existing emergency lighting central units, battery systems, substations and the dismantled emergency and safety sign lights. Documentation and acceptance: For each central system, complete documentation must be created according to the documentation guidelines of Flughafen München GmbH (FMG). Acceptance will take place in sections as part of VOB partial acceptances after the completion of the respective construction phases. Details can be found in the tender documents.
