A new building for the Institutes of Physics with a usable floor area (NUF 1-6) of approximately 4800 m² is being constructed at Hans-Sommer-Straße. Half of the floor space in the four-storey building is allocated for laboratories, measuring and weighing rooms, which are located in the northern part of the building. Other usable areas include office spaces, seminar rooms and lecture halls. A foyer connecting the floor levels via an atrium serves as the main access point. On the ground floor, student workstations extend the foyer and provide access to the landscaped courtyard. The technical centre extends as a fifth floor over half of the building's floor space.
