The purpose of the measure is the relocation of the Department of Internal Medicine from the Rockenhausen site to the Kirchheimbolanden site. The 2nd construction phase complements the central medical core functions with renovation and new construction components in Building 2 and Building 3, including an expansion of the Central Emergency Department, the ZSVA, the recovery room/holding area, outpatient and medical staff areas. The recovery room/holding area will be located at the site of the former intensive care unit directly next to the OR in Building 3 and connected to it. Due to the narrowness in the area of the patient drop-off zone caused by the construction of the extension to Building 2, the effects on the operation of the ZNA must be investigated at an early stage. The new construction in Building 3, due to its northern location, is not expected to cause any disruptions in the hospital's daily operations. After completion of the 2nd phase, the areas of the outpatient clinics and medical services, the emergency department and the sterile supply ZSVA will be relocated or expanded into the newly created spaces. At the same time, areas for staff changing rooms will be created on logistics level 1. The technical building, Building 1, will be equipped with new plant technology. On level 2, above the ORs, the ventilation technology of the operating rooms will be essentially renewed. The implementation of the 2nd construction phase in the renovation of the Westpfalz-Klinikum GmbH site III Kirchheimbolanden presents the object and specialist planners to be commissioned with particular challenges due to the location, planning contents and cramped spatial conditions: The new construction is being built at the interface between the existing building and the new construction of the 1st construction phase. Only a cramped construction site is available in the northern part of the property between the old and new buildings, in close proximity to the property boundary and neighbouring buildings. Consequently, there is also little space for setting up the construction site, crane area and for storing building materials. This must be taken into account in the choice of execution (e.g. hollow wall elements to reduce the formwork effort, use of prefabricated parts). The choice of construction must also take into account the necessary reduction of impairments due to dust, noise and, in particular, vibrations (spatial proximity to the OR areas!). The new construction measure must be carried out during full hospital operation. The assurance of all processes of the house required for operation/patient care must be guaranteed at all times. In the 2nd construction phase, a 3-storey solid structure will be erected north of the ward building and the 3 levels adjacent to it will be renovated. In the renovation, the various changes to the load-bearing components will be replaced by steel support beams. As a further measure, a two-storey extension will be erected north of the chief physician's area, which, like the new buildings described so far, will also be constructed as a steel reinforced concrete building without a lintel. In the further renovations marked in the architect's plans, the planned changes that affect the statics will be erected using suitable support measures in steel construction.
