Background and Objectives: The Johanniter-Krankenhaus is a systemically relevant acute inpatient provider in the district of Hildesheim due to the closure of hospitals in the surrounding area. Scope of the Construction Measure: The tendered feasibility study shows three variants, with the client favouring the variant of an extension/new building with renovation of the existing structure, which is described in more detail from page 52 onwards in the feasibility study. - The total usable floor area (NUF) is to be increased from 7,495.0 m² (as is) to 8,121.1 m² (should be). - A restructuring and centralisation of the Central Emergency Department (ZNA) and the Operating Department (OP) in a three-storey extension (basement to 1st floor) is planned, as well as a three-storey extension with nursing stations and therapy rooms. The two components of the feasibility study are to be implemented in one construction step. - The nursing areas are to be restructured and centralised, in particular by dissolving 19 three-bed rooms in favour of single and double rooms with sanitary cells. The general nursing areas are to grow from 2,201.4 m² to 2,529.1 m² NUF. - Geriatrics is to be centralised as its own station, with conversion of archive and technical central areas into therapy rooms (4th floor/attic) and a total increase from 629.7 m² to 982.0 m² NUF. - High importance is attached to climate protection and climate adaptation measures, dementia sensitivity and an integral approach. Even if a sustainability certificate is not being sought.
