Description

Located on 35,000 m², MEGACITE is an event hub that allows for the organisation of indoor and outdoor events such as trade fairs, congresses, seminars, exhibitions, shows, etc. Built in 1984, an extension of the building was completed in 2006. It mainly comprises a set of spaces including an auditorium with 986 seats, 4 exhibition halls of 3,800 m², 2,400 m², 1,800 m² and 1,135 m², a 600 m² multi-purpose reception area, 7 workshop rooms for 30 to 300 people, a bar, kitchens, and outdoor areas for setting up marquees. The extension opened in 2006 includes an additional auditorium with 350 seats, 2 workshop rooms (70 and 90 seats), a press room, and an office space dedicated to organisers. Given the state of the site, the next contract will require the concessionaire to build a modular hall of 5,000 to 8,000 m² for fairs, trade fairs, exhibitions and congresses, including a catering office, as well as the renovation of the existing spaces. The cost of the project is estimated between 18 and 23.5 M€TTC. The construction of this modular hall will involve the demolition and redevelopment of part of the infrastructure, which will be the subject of work carried out by Amiens Métropole and will take place after 2032. Finally, the operation of the shared spaces of the Quai de l’innovation will be integrated as an option into the scope of the concession. This facility is located in the heart of the historic St Leu district and includes shared spaces representing approximately 1,900 m², including meeting rooms, tiered conference rooms for 50 to 300 people, as well as office, reception, coworking and videoconferencing spaces.

Contract Duration

The minimum duration of the contract is 180 months. Depending on the candidates' projects and the overall economy of the offers, this duration may be extended to a maximum of 240 months.

Conditions for the Execution of the Concession

The concessionaire will directly receive the operating revenues and directly bear the service charges for the duration of the contract. Amiens Métropole will pay an investment subsidy capped at 70% of the total cost of the investments. If necessary, the local authority will pay the concessionaire a financial contribution to take into account the level of public service missions it intends to impose on it. Furthermore, the agreement will set out the terms of a performance-related incentive in the event that the result achieved by the concessionaire is higher than its forecasts.

Additional Information

The description of the services and the list of documents to be provided by the candidates are set out in the document entitled "Additional Information for Mégacité Candidates".
