Finland – Sludge transport services – Viikinmäen ja Blominmäen jätevedenpuhdistamoiden jätevesilietteen kuljetus, TP 54/26

The Helsinki Metropolitan Area Environmental Services Authority HSY invites tenders for the transport of sewage sludge from the Viikinmäki and Blominmäki wastewater treatment plants. The sludge is treated by composting and mechanically dewatered, consisting of a moist, clay-like mass with a dry solids content of approximately 30 %. The total amount of sludge from the Viikinmäki wastewater treatment plant (Hernepellontie 24, 00710 Helsinki) is approximately 62 000 – 66 000 tonnes per year. The daily amount of sludge to be transported from Monday to Friday varies between 160 – 390 tonnes per day. Approximately 4 500 tonnes of the total amount of sludge per year is procured separately and is therefore not included in the transport quantities of this tender. The total amount of sludge from the Blominmäki wastewater treatment plant (Blominmetsäntie 11, 02780 Espoo) is approximately 21 000 – 23 000 tonnes per year. The daily amount of sludge to be transported from Monday to Friday varies between 53-220 tonnes per day. The main destination for the sludge from Viikinmäki is the Metsäpirtti composting site (Kilpilahdentie 241, 06850 Kulloo), which is 35 km from Viikinmäki. At Metsäpirtti, the load is unloaded onto the designated area for the sludge. The destinations for the sludge from Blominmäki are either Metsäpirtti or Ämmässuo (Ämmässuontie 8, 02820 Espoo). The transport distance to Metsäpirtti is 57 km and to Ämmässuo 12 km. Further details on the objects of the procurement are given in the annexes to this notice.
