Germany – Architectural services for buildings – Modernisierung Übernachtungshaus in Leipzig (Los 1: Objektplanung Gebäude und Innenräume)

The demand for accommodation for homeless persons is continuously increasing. The city of Leipzig is obligated under the Police Act of the Free State of Saxony, as the district police authority, to provide emergency accommodation for homeless persons to avert dangers to the individual. At the same time, the measure serves to achieve the strategic goal of increasing "equality of opportunity and community-based neighbourhood development", which arises from the Leipzig Strategy 2035. With the specialist plan "Emergency Housing Assistance in the City of Leipzig 2023 to 2026" (VII-DS-07533), the expansion of capacities for the emergency accommodation of homeless women, including a free emergency sleeping place offer, was decided. An expansion of the capacity to up to 50 sleeping places is not possible in the existing facility, and these are to be realised in the new building.
