Germany – Software package and information systems – Erweiterung der bestehenden (Net)Backup-Infrastruktur für die Evangelische Klinikum Westerwald gGmbH
Description
As part of the takeover of the Hachenburg hospital site by the Evangelische Klinikum Westerwald, additional requirements arise for the existing IT infrastructure and the centrally provided IT services. The Hachenburg site must be integrated organizationally and technically into the existing IT landscape of the contracting authority. To this end, existing infrastructure components, systems, and licenses must be expanded as needed to enable secure, stable, and uniformly administrable IT operations at the acquired site. Specifically, the takeover of the Hachenburg hospital site results in an additional need for infrastructure components and software licenses in several central areas of IT. The existing IT environment of the contracting authority must be expanded accordingly so that the additional systems, end-users, and applications of the Hachenburg site can be fully integrated into the existing central operating, security, backup, and administration structures. In the area of data backup, central backup infrastructures based on NetBackup and Veeam already exist. The integration of the Hachenburg site increases the scope of the systems, applications, and data sets to be backed up. For workplace provision, the Hachenburg site already has an existing thin-client infrastructure. These existing thin clients form the existing technical and functional standard for the workplace environment. As part of the integration, there is also an additional need for workplace systems, so the existing thin-client infrastructure must be supplemented with additional devices. The additional number of endpoints and servers also creates an increased need for IT security licenses. The existing Sophos licenses must be expanded accordingly so that the additional systems to be integrated into the central IT environment can be integrated into the existing security infrastructure and protected and centrally managed according to the existing security standards. The existing Citrix infrastructure is also affected by the site integration. The additional end-users and workplace systems of the Hachenburg site create an additional license requirement. The existing Citrix licensing must therefore be expanded to ensure the required access to the centrally provided applications and desktops for the additional users and workplaces. Furthermore, additional requirements for Microsoft Windows Server licensing arise as part of the technical integration. The server resources required for the future operation of the site must be licensed accordingly to ensure legally compliant and permanently operable operation of the expanded server environment.
