Germany – Global navigation and positioning systems (GPS or equivalent) – GPS-Tracking

At Cologne/Bonn Airport (FKB), a variety of mobile and stationary operational equipment (e.g. vehicles, Ground Support Equipment, special equipment and other assets) is used by different organisational units and service providers. The current status of the position, condition and use of these assets is today only partially, system-dependent or not at all digitally available. This leads to limited transparency regarding availability, search efforts, inefficient processes and limited possibilities for data-based optimisation of operational and maintenance processes. The aim of the project is therefore to establish a scalable and future-proof solution for capturing and providing position and operational data at object level. The data should be made available in a standardised form across systems, so that different specialist departments and connected IT systems can use it for their respective use cases. The data is provided via a central data infrastructure and follows a technology-open approach to integrate different localisation and sensor technologies and to take future requirements into account.
