The Property Department of the Swedish Transport Administration manages approximately 630 buildings owned by the Swedish Transport Administration, as well as approximately 1,500 technical buildings/premises. Most of these are related to railways, with buildings such as locomotive sheds, signal boxes, staff buildings, and offices that are leased by track maintenance contractors or other railway-related companies. The building stock is divided according to the Swedish Transport Administration's regional division, and each region is managed by a manager. In addition to the Property Department, the Swedish Transport Administration carries out investment measures on properties that are not owned by the Swedish Transport Administration. The majority of these consist of noise-reducing measures, such as window replacements, local screens, or similar.
