The cabin and technology demonstrator must consist of an approximately 20-meter-long fuselage segment of an Airbus wide-body, or twin-aisle aircraft. The material of the fuselage must be aluminium, which limits the possible aircraft models to the A330 and A340 series. Due to planned work on system interfaces, including the galley area, a tail section is required. The aircraft itself and the systems within it do not need to be certified. The cabin equipment of the fuselage segment must correspond to the equipment of a real, operational aircraft. For the individual systems, such as lavatories, galleys, but also air conditioning, electrical, or water systems, it is required that the systems have complete physical presence and their original wiring. There is no requirement for the functional operability or electrical functionality of the components.
