With the present contract, the needs of the Electron Microscopy Service (SME) in the field of optoacoustics and ultrasonics are to be covered. The SME does not currently have this imaging modality. This equipment will enable the acquisition of molecular and functional three-dimensional images through the synchronised combination of pulsed laser optical excitation and high-resolution ultrasonic detection, incorporating a technology complementary to the existing electron and optical microscopy in the institution.
