The new state parliament of the State of Brandenburg is located on the site of the city palace demolished in 1959 at the Alten Markt in the centre of Potsdam and was commissioned in 2014. In addition to the offices for the members, parliamentary group staff and for the parliamentary administration, it has a large number of meeting and conference rooms. The heart of the state parliament is the centrally located plenary chamber. The plenary chamber and the larger meeting and conference rooms are equipped with complex conference and multimedia systems, which were implemented during the construction phase and subsequently retrofitted during ongoing operations. Given the long period of use, the equipment is now largely technologically outdated and shows reduced reliability and functionality due to wear and tear, as well as reduced compatibility with current media formats. It is therefore to be renewed, adapted, supplemented and updated in several steps over time with the measure described here. Some components have already been replaced by devices corresponding to the current state of the art. These are to continue to be used and integrated into the new systems.
