Implementation of the European Pollinator Monitoring Scheme (EU PoMS) 2026-2029

This contract concerns the implementation of the European Pollinator Monitoring Scheme (EU PoMS) for the period 2026-2029. The objective is to establish a harmonised, long-term monitoring system for pollinators across the European Union. The system will collect and analyse data on pollinator populations, including bees, hoverflies, butterflies, and other relevant species, to assess their status and trends. The monitoring will be conducted using standardised methods and protocols, ensuring comparability and reliability of the data. The results will support evidence-based policy-making and conservation efforts to protect pollinators and their habitats. The contract includes the development and maintenance of a centralised database, training of field staff, and coordination with national and regional monitoring programmes. The successful tenderer will collaborate with EU Member States, relevant stakeholders, and scientific institutions to ensure the effective implementation of the scheme.
