Germany – Engineering services – SPO_Bauüberwachung
Description
For the future-proof expansion of its existing natural gas network, terranets bw GmbH (terranets bw) plans the "Spessart-Odenwald-Leitung (SPO)". The planned natural gas transport pipeline, with a total length of approximately 117 kilometers, runs through the federal state of Hessen and the Free State of Bavaria. It has a nominal diameter of DN 1,000 and a pressure stage of PN 90. In a cable protection pipe, optical fiber cables for data transmission, operational remote control, and other communication are to be laid in the 2 o'clock position. A standard cover of 1.2 m is assumed for the pipes; a greater depth may be necessary in the area of special crops. Warning posts should be installed within sight or at critical points. The protection strip should be 5 m on both sides of the pipe axis (i.e., a total of 10 m in width). In Wirtheim and Lampertheim, pig traps and gas pressure regulating and measuring systems are to be installed. Additional valve groups or line shut-off stations are planned along the route. These services are not part of the advertised construction service. The standard working strip should have a width of 34 m, while it can be restricted to 29 m in width in narrow sections and even to 18 m in the forest. The route largely follows the course of the existing MIDAL (Mitte-Deutschland-Anbindungs-Leitung). In the federal state of Hessen and the Free State of Bavaria, the SPO runs from north to south through the districts of Main-Kinzig, Aschaffenburg, Offenbach, Darmstadt-Dieburg and Bergstraße. The overall SPO project has been divided into four planning approval sections:
- Section Hessen-Nord (PLA)
- from approximately chainage 0+000 - 35+090, or from the locality of Wirtheim (municipality of Biebergemünd) - locality of Klein-Auheim (city of Hanau)
- length approx. 34.2 km
- Section Hessen-Mitte (PLB)
- from approximately chainage 35+090 to approximately 83+220, or from the locality of Klein-Auheim (city of Hanau) - locality of Herchenrode (municipality of Modautal)
- length approx. 48.1 km
- Section Hessen-Süd (PLC)
- from approximately chainage 83+220 to approximately 117+600, or from the locality of Herchenrode (municipality of Modautal) - locality of Lampertheim (city of Lampertheim)
- length approx. 33.5 km
- Section Bayern (PLD)
- from approximately chainage 22+950 - 24+940, in the Free State of Bavaria, various route sections within Section Hessen-Nord (PLA)
- length approx. 900 m in Bavaria
The construction of the pipeline can take place in several construction sections simultaneously, depending on the approval. The daily rates are based on a working time of up to a maximum of 10.0 hours excl. breaks for weekdays (Monday to Saturday) within a time corridor between 06:00 and 22:00. The working times contractually agreed with the general contractor (GU) are to be adhered to. Only the supervision of the individual (special) special structures to be created by the GU may require a working effort beyond the standard working hours. In this case, intensive supervision over a period of approximately 1 month per special structure may be necessary. Premiums will be agreed for Sundays, public holidays, and night work. The provisions of the Working Hours Act remain unaffected. The pipeline is to be constructed "H2Ready", i.e. suitable for the transport of up to 100% molecular hydrogen. The planning approval decision is to be available in sections (for the section Hessen-Mitte) at the beginning of the year 2027 and in the remaining parts in late summer of the year 2027. Early measures (EnWG § 44c) such as tree felling and the establishment of pipe storage areas are to take place as early as 2026.
