Germany – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – Otto-Dullenkopf-Park (ODP), Karlsruhe

Stadt Karlsruhe Gartenbauamt - Planung und NeubauGermanyPublished on Aug 04, 2026
No deadline given

Description

The Otto-Dullenkopf Park (ODP) in the eastern part of Karlsruhe is to be further developed in a climate-friendly manner over a total area of approximately 95,000 m². The subject of the procedure is the redesign of the last, approximately four-hectare southern park section. The planning area is divided into a realization part (approx. 55,000 m²) in the area of the renovated halls of the former bus depot and an ideas part (total planning area approx. 95,000 m²). The aim is to develop a future-proof, identity-creating urban space that combines climate adaptation, ecological quality and social cohesion. The basis for this is a citizen participation process (2025) and a feasibility study by the office of Helleckes. The planning project sought in the context of this tender procedure goes far beyond a purely green-space planning individual measure. It stands as an example of a holistic approach to urban development in Karlsruhe, in which ecological, social and economic concerns are brought together in an integrated overall concept. The Otto-Dullenkopf Park (ODP) is to be further developed into a future-proof urban space that:

- strengthens the green infrastructure of the eastern part of the city in a sustainable way,

- makes a significant contribution to climate adaptation

- and at the same time promotes and improves social cohesion and the quality of stay for the public.

A detailed description of the task is attached to the tender documents as Annex "A_Aufgabenbeschreibung".
