The listed heritage building, which currently houses the Agricultural Museum, is in need of renovation and no longer meets the requirements of a modern museum building. The city of Regen therefore plans to develop a new museum (Agroseum) at the site. Suitable areas in the old building should be reused and additional exhibition areas should be created in a new building. Additionally, the tourism information centre of the city of Regen should be accommodated in the project. A room programme for the project as well as a preliminary concept for the museum are available and have already been approved by the city council. The room programme comprises usable areas of approx. 2,300 m². The museum is to serve as a centre of knowledge and exchange, to showcase agriculture in all its facets, and at the same time to provide space for events. The old building comprises a gross floor area of approx. 2,100 m². Since some of the required areas cannot be accommodated in the old building, additional new construction is necessary. Areas in the old building that are not suitable for museum use should be used for other purposes, e.g. as office space. Their interior fit-out is not the subject of the tender. The cost estimate for the project, according to DIN 276 for cost groups 300 & 400, is approx. 14 million € gross. The project is treated as a single object. The fee determination is based on the billable costs of the entire object. The fee component for refurbishment/modernisation is determined separately; an additional charge for refurbishment is only applied to this component. The measure is part of the newly emerging "Green Centre". For this purpose, an administrative site for departments of the Offices for Food, Agriculture and Forestry and the State Leadership Academy for Food, Agriculture and Forestry is planned on the adjacent western plot. The land-use plan for the entire area is currently being drawn up.
