Germany – Road bridge construction work – Neubau eines Schwerlasthafenzubringers als Anbindung zum Offshore-Basishafen Cuxhaven

The subject of the construction project is the construction of a heavy-duty bridge, including the associated access infrastructure, for the efficient connection of the Offshore Base Port of Cuxhaven. The planned heavy-duty bridge is designed to cross the tracks of Deutsche Bahn and to facilitate heavy-duty traffic between the port area and the higher-level road network. It is an integral part of the port access road and is designed to accommodate high axle loads and large-scale transports. In functional connection with the heavy-duty bridge, the construction of a new access road is planned. This creates both a southern connection to the federal road B73 and a northern connection to the street "An der Baumrönne" at the level of the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy site. As part of the routing, the railway line No. 1720 Cuxhaven - Lehrte must be crossed. The heavy-duty bridge will be constructed with a total width of 22.00 m. In addition, the necessary pedestrian and cycle path facilities are provided on both sides to cater for the needs of non-motorised traffic. South of the railway line, the road is designed as a ramp structure to ensure the necessary height connection to the heavy-duty bridge. The bridge is designed for heavy-duty and special transports with a total tonnage of up to 5,000 t. With regard to fatigue stress, a classification in traffic category 3 with a maximum of 125,000 trucks per year is assumed. The measure also includes, among other things: - Preparatory work, such as the establishment of storage areas and construction site areas - Preparation of construction roads with widths up to 10.0 m - Removal of the overburden and construction of an embankment (embankment construction) with a height difference of up to 11.00 m - Application of surcharges and sand overburdens up to 2.00 m in height - Execution of sheet piling and the construction of a deep foundation - Construction and laying of footpaths and cycle paths - Construction of a heavy-duty-capable bridge structure over two railway tracks of Deutsche Bahn AG, a railway side ditch (watercourse of the third order), the receiving watercourse "Baumrönne" (watercourse of the second order) and a cycle path - Railway safety works - Laying of drainage pipes and construction of a new drainage system - Road construction over a specified length of approx. 1,000 m, designed for heavy-duty traffic with connection to the B73 at the southern connection point and to the street "An der Baumrönne" at the northern connection point. Niedersachsen Ports GmbH & Co. KG will act as a procurement service provider for the city of Cuxhaven and will carry out the award for the city of Cuxhaven.
