The physical conditions and external framework of the Walpershofen Fire Department at Herchenbacher Straße no longer meet the technical and legal requirements of a modern fire department. The existing spaces and areas are no longer sufficiently large for daily operations. The Fire Department must be provided with spaces and areas according to DIN 14092 and the guidelines of the accident insurance fund. Furthermore, the Fire Department should be equipped for the future fleet. Based on a feasibility study, the municipality of Riegelsberg has decided to implement the project "New Fire Station Walpershofen" at the location at Salbacher Straße 3 according to the agreed space and area program. The demolition of the existing building on the property at Salbacher Straße 3 and the subsequent new construction on this property will take place once the new kindergarten has been relocated to Herchenbacher Straße.
