With the construction project "New Construction of a Station Building", the Evangelische Krankenhaus Mettmann aims to expand and ensure the long-term provision of neurological care in the district of Mettmann. In addition, the new building will have a geriatric ward and diagnostic facilities. The production kitchen, which is responsible for the catering of patients and staff as well as external customers, will be located on the ground floor. As part of the new construction, the existing single-storey and dilapidated kitchen building will be carefully dismantled. A four-storey station building will be erected at this location, designed in such a way that an extension by a fourth storey is possible. The respective use should be reflected in the façade. The ground floor is fully brick-clad and thus forms a plinth. On the north side, this plinth is continued into the first floor, so that the technical floor is also enclosed in the brick façade.
