The State of Hesse and the Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen intend to construct a new institute building for the Department of Psychology. The building will house the currently only German Excellence Cluster with a psychological focus. It will facilitate research using the most advanced methods in behavioural and neuroscience. The processing of the research programme in interdisciplinary teams requires an expansion and spatial integration of researchers from various specialisation areas in an integrative building, room and large equipment concept. The building will be erected at the northern border of the Campus for Humanities and Social Sciences, in the area of the Philosophikum I, in the immediate vicinity of the "International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture" (GCSC). Negotiated procedure with solution proposals pursuant to § 17 VgV for the award of building design services pursuant to § 34 HOAI.
