Germany – Construction work – Planung und Neubau des Feuerwehrhauses Gohfeld-Wittel

The city of Löhne in North Rhine-Westphalia plans the new construction of the Gohfeld-Wittel fire station. The reason for this project was the merger of the two fire brigades Gohfeld and Wittel of the voluntary fire department Löhne into the fire brigade Gohfeld-Wittel in February 2017. Since the previous locations of the fire brigades are in need of renovation and no longer up-to-date and are also unfavourably located in terms of traffic, the contracting authority intends to build a new joint fire station at a new location. The fire station will be built on the corner property Tichelbrink/Koblenzer Str. in the district of Gohfeld (municipality of Gohfeld, plot 72, plot 265). The property is owned by the city of Löhne. The property area is approximately 3,336 m². The following use areas/rooms are to be provided: - Administration - Training - Operational rooms with changing facilities - Kitchen (catering for operational forces on a municipal level of up to 150 meals per day) - Vehicle hall for 6 vehicles - Storage areas

In terms of building planning law, the property is within the scope of a binding land-use plan. The implementation of a fire station is permissible in terms of planning law. A gross floor area of approximately 1,713 m² is currently being assumed. The room program took into account that the fire brigade will also take over logistics tasks for the entire fire department Löhne in the future.
