The hospital building in Losheim was constructed in 1879 and served for many years in the medical care of the region. The hospital (currently approx. 13,100 m² gross floor area and 6,200 m² net floor area - excluding associated access areas as well as storage and technical rooms -) has not been used for medical care since 2020. Currently, a kindergarten with a nursery and a special school are housed in a part of the area. In addition, a dialysis centre is located in the current hospital. The entire clinic site, consisting of the hospital with three full storeys plus a basement as well as further buildings, green spaces and parking spaces (see attachments site plan and site plan with aerial view), is to be revitalised in a future-oriented manner. The area is designated as a redevelopment area. The total area is 21,821 m².
