Germany – Architectural, engineering and planning services – Sanierung der Gebäudehülle des Lokschuppens

The City of Pasewalk intends to award the structural planning for the renovation of the building envelope of the locomotive shed. The following construction measures are to be implemented at a later date:

- Renewal and renovation of windows incl. creating professional connections to the existing masonry, demolition of changes to the window openings after 1945

- New construction of doors according to historical models or comparable examples as rescue doors

- Renewal of the roof covering incl. insulation layer above the wooden sheathing and renovation or restoration of the eaves and verges

- Repair of exterior wall surfaces as required: remove and renew loose joint material, replace destroyed or missing bricks, repair with brick replacement compound if necessary

- Check the sealing layers, if necessary renew/renovate the horizontal and vertical sealing in the external masonry

- Check the timber structure, replace or trim and possibly strengthen damaged timber parts according to the recommendations of the timber protection report

- Overhaul floors and interior wall surfaces as part of further concept development (guiding principle: barrier-free development with preservation of the traces of use of the locomotive shed)

- Renewal of heating, sanitation, electrical, and ventilation: as part of further concept development (guiding principles: visible technology and conduit routing, no/ minimal cladding, reduced usage-adapted level of completion)

- Fire protection concept with consideration of the concerns of the monument to be preserved
