Germany – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – Klinikum der Technischen Universität München (TUM Klinikum) - Sanierung und Erweiterung Radiologie / Ersatz Großgeräte Radiologie mit entsprechender Baumaßnahme (Bau 502) – Leistungen der Technischen Ausrüstung, Anlagengruppen 1, 2, 3, 7 (ohne MED-Technik) und 8, Lph. 1-9 gemäß §§ 53 ff. HOAI
Description
The TUM Klinikum Rechts der Isar plans the renovation and expansion of the Radiology department, including the replacement of large radiology equipment with the corresponding construction project (Building 502) on the main campus in Munich-Haidhausen. The measure aims to ensure the sustainable provision and further development of radiological care at the clinic site. The existing Radiology department is housed in Building 502, one of the oldest parts of the clinic. The existing building substance and technical systems only partially meet the requirements of a modern radiology operation. At the same time, numerous imaging large-scale devices will reach the end of their technical useful life in the coming years, posing an immediate risk of failures and restrictions in patient care. Radiology is a central diagnostic facility for all clinical departments. At the same time, the number of examinations, particularly in the field of magnetic resonance tomography (MRT), has been increasing continuously for years. The available space capacities and the functional arrangement of the examination and work areas do not allow for demand-oriented further development. To meet the requirements of modern university high-end medicine, a comprehensive structural and technical restructuring is therefore necessary. The core of the measure is the combination of a renovation and restructuring of the existing areas in Building 502 and the construction of an extension building in the southern inner courtyard. This extension creates additional space, which is particularly needed for accommodating MRT diagnostics. The new building will be directly connected to the existing structure and will enable the consolidation of the MRT units in a modern functional cluster with associated preparation, changing, waiting and technical areas. This will significantly improve diagnostic processes and eliminate capacity bottlenecks on a sustainable basis. The relocation of the MRT areas to the new building also creates development opportunities within the existing building. The freed-up spaces will be used to restructure CT and X-ray diagnostics and adapt them to current operational requirements. Planned are new room layouts, optimized patient routes, additional waiting and preparation areas, as well as up-to-date workplaces for medical and technical staff. In addition, surfaces will be renewed and functional processes within the department will be improved. In addition to the construction measures, a comprehensive modernization of the technical infrastructure will take place. This particularly affects the areas of power supply, emergency power supply, building automation, IT, ventilation, heating, sanitary facilities and medical gases. To supply the new large-scale devices, the existing substation will be expanded and the electrical infrastructure will be fundamentally upgraded. In addition, new installation routes will be created to ensure the long-term supply of the Radiology department. The ventilation and air conditioning technology will also be adapted to the requirements of modern MRT and CT systems. As part of the measure, extensive fire protection and renovation measures will also be implemented in the existing structure. This includes the upgrading of existing components, the adaptation of escape routes, static reinforcement measures, and the modernization of outdated electrical distributions. In some cases, interventions in load-bearing components will be necessary to realize the new room structure and the connection of the extension building. At the same time, the conditions will be created to permanently accommodate the increased loads of modern medical technology. A particular challenge is the implementation during ongoing clinic operations. Radiological care must be maintained as uninterruptedly as possible throughout the construction period. For this reason, a multi-stage construction phase model has been developed. Initially, preparatory measures and the extension building will be implemented. After its commissioning, the section-by-section renovations in the existing structure will follow. This approach will allow necessary examination and treatment capacities to be maintained during the construction period and impairments for patients and staff to be reduced to a minimum. The inner-city location of the clinic and the cramped space conditions in the courtyard require additional measures in the area of construction logistics. All deliveries and construction site traffic must be organized taking into account the ongoing clinic operations and the adjacent traffic areas. In addition, extensive measures are planned to protect against dust, noise and vibrations. With this measure, the conditions will be created to equip the Radiology department at the TUM Klinikum Rechts der Isar with state-of-the-art technology, functionality and organization. Through the renewal of the large-scale devices, the expansion of the space capacities and the modernization of the infrastructure, the increasing demands from healthcare, research and teaching can be met in the long term. At the same time, the processes within Radiology will be optimized and the conditions for patients and staff will be sustainably improved. The total costs of the measure are currently estimated at approximately 48.4 million € gross (cost group 200-700) including risk reserves and indexing. The current project schedule provides for the commissioning of the planning team in early 2027, the start of construction in July 2029, the completion of the construction project in September 2032, and the start of use in January 2033. It is intended to award the following services (in stages) with this tender: Technical equipment, plant groups 1, 2, 3, 7 (without MED technology) and 8, performance phases 1-9 according to §§ 53 ff. HOAI.
